Design team develop detail design proposals

“Proposals for the Jewellery Quarter’s flagship Golden Square project continue to be progressed with Birmingham city council still fully committed through its Big City Plan initiatives programme.  The consultants, Turner and Townsend and Capita Lovejoy, have been re-engaged to complete the detailed design and tender documentation focusing on testing the technical and buildability aspects of the retail unit, the specialist stonework features, the lighting features and the interactive information screens.  It is anticipated that the specialist digital media and design agency, Substrakt, will be commissioned very shortly to develop the content for the information screens.  To ensure that the design solution meets user requirements, further consultation will take place with the local business and residential communuties.

It is anticipated that tenders will be issued in March 2012 with a start on site late June 2012 and completion by the end of March 2013.
